Southeast Iowa Regional Riverboat Commission (SIRRC) is the nonprofit sponsor of the license for Catfish Bend Casino. Funds received from Catfish Bend Casino are directly dispersed by SIRCC to area governments.
The Board of Supervisors in Des Moines and Lee Counties each receive 2 percent of the discretionary income. The remaining money is divided equally (32 percent each) among the following Iowa cities:
Burlington: “Grow Greater Burlington” uses the money for building sites, shell buildings and industry recruitment.
Keokuk: The Convention and Tourism Bureau and the City of Keokuk allocates the funds for tourism opportunities and public safety initiatives.
Ft. Madison: The “Ft. Madison SIRRC Corporation” administers a grant program for Ft. Madison-area not-for-profits. The organization accepts grant applications at any time of the year.
Fort Madison SIRRC Board is made up of three individuals each from the City of Fort Madison, Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce and Fort Madison Economic Development Corporation:
