PARKS
CENTRAL PARK |
Located at Ninth Street and Avenue E. The “block-style” park hosts a turn-of-the-century style gazebo, 1890s pond with fountain, playground equipment, water fountain, park benches and is host to band concerts on Sunday evenings during the summer and a Farmers Market on Thursday afternoons. During Christmas time, the park is home to the Winter Wonderland of lights.

OLD SETTLERS PARK |
Located at Fourth Street and Avenue E. The “block-style” park is home to a basketball court, playground equipment, ball field, water fountain, shelter equipped with picnic tables, period lighting, park benches, hosta garden, and a reproduction of the original pre-Civil War bandstand.

IVANHOE PARK |
Located at 37th Street and Avenue L. This park has been in existence since the 1880s. The park boasts the city’s only skate park and in-line skating trail, an open shelter with picnic tables, playground equipment. Horseshoe pits, water fountain, restrooms and a Babe Ruth size baseball field. The baseball field at Ivanhoe was named “Larry Roberts Field” in 2004 but has been seen baseball games played at the field since the 1920s.

SHOPTON PARK |
Located at 29th Street and Avenue O. Shopton features and enclosed
shelter house, basketball courts, water fountain, playground equipment and Bert Featheringill Field, a girls softball field. The park was established in the early 1980s.

RODEO PARK |
Located north of Fort Madison on County Highway X32. Rodeo Park boasts 234 acres of recreational facilities including playground equipment, 6 open shelters, one enclosed shelter, restrooms, horseshoe pits, two softball diamonds, camping area, soccer field, 36-hole disc golf course and a 1.5 mile hiking and biking trail. Events held here are the Tri-State Rodeo, Big River Rally, Iowa High School Rodeo, Bloodhound Booster Club All Terrain Run, Fort Madison High School cross-country meet and disc golf tournaments. The Rodeo Park Saddle Club holds regular competitions at a ring southwest of the Rodeo Arena.

VICTORY PARK |
Located at 23 rd Street and Avenue G. Another “block-style’ park, Victory Park has been in use since the early 1910s. The park has lighted tennis courts, an open shelter, playground equipment, water fountains, restrooms, and a Milt Kokjohn Field, a baseball field.

RIVERVIEW PARK |
Located along the Mississippi River between Second and Tenth Streets, is a 35-acre park offering picnic facilities, an open shelter, a Veteran’s Memorial, playground equipment, restrooms, formal flower gardens, Santa Fe 2913 Steam Engine Locomotive, river walk, Kuhlmeier Fountain-a reflecting pond/ice skating rink, two sand volleyball courts, a marina, Old Fort Madison and is the summer home port of Catfish Bend Casino.
